Paris crowns the 2009-2010 AIPP Awards Winners!

Paris, 19 September 2009 --- The 2009-2010 AIPP Awards Ceremony was held on Sunday, 13 Sep at the prestigious Espace Cardin (Paris), honouring the artistic achievements of five internationally acclaimed hairstylists: François Mazeau (France), Desmond Murray @ Atherton Cox (United Kingdom), Sacha Mascolo-Tarbuck @ Toni&Guy (United Kingdom), Jean Claude Aubry (France) and X-Presion (Spain). Hosted by Roberto Pissimiglia, President of the AIPP (Association Internationale Presse Professionnelle Coiffure) and Mike Vincent, AIPP Awards Founder, the 13th annual event was presented on stage prior to the Tribu-te Show, a great hairstyling event that assembled an international audience made of hundreds of hair professionals. "The AIPP Awards –the world's most renowned awards in the hairdressing industry– is an expression of the purpose of the AIPP, confirming the importance of the professional trade press to the hairdressers all over the world", said Roberto Pissimiglia.

This way, the AIPP Awards’ 5 Categories recognised again this year outstanding achievement by professional hairdressers in photography and presentation of their work: François Mazeau (France) won the Best Commercial Award for his collection made of styles easy to wear and simple to re-style; Desmond Murray @ Atherton Cox (United Kingdom) grabbed the Best Avant-Garde Award for a futuristic collection researching new and original ideas; Sacha Mascolo-Tarbuck @ Toni&Guy (United Kingdom) achieved the Best Photography Award for a collection composed of the best pictures from the point of view of originality and attention to detail; Jean Claude Aubry (France) won the Best Men Award for their collection of new and appealing male styles; and X-Presion (Spain) conquered the Best Video Award for a stunning and creative video showing their latest hairstyles' collection. All of the winners were present in the Ceremony showing to be really thrilled and touched by the emotion when receiving their awards in front of the cheering audience (only Sacha Mascolo-Tarbuck and Desmond Murray were unable to come: Efi Davies (Toni&Guy) got the award on behalf of Sacha while Nicky Pope (Tribu-te UK) received it on behalf of Desmond).

Award recipients were voted by the AIPP Magazine Members throughout the world during last month; this year we've got a fabulous participation, having received 209 photo collections from 21 countries from all around the globe!!!

Now it’s time to start the race for the AIPP Grand Trophy 2009-2010, where the 5 winners of the AIPP Awards compete against each other to become the over-all winner, by sending their Fall-Winter Collections. The AIPP Grand Trophy 2009-2010 is going to be awarded in Cosmoprof Bologna (16-19 April 2010).
